The purpose of psychotherapy is to help the client make sense of and understand the difficulties that have reduced his or her quality of life.
With this newly found insight the client is better able to deal with the challenges he or she is faced with. To realize that it is possible to change undesirable thoughts or behaviourable patterns. Also to be able to recognize one’s own strengths and resources and learn to use these efficiently.
Psychotherapy entails examining ones own feelings, beliefs, thoughts, and also life events. These life events or periods of life are sometimes old ones, perhaps from ones childhood.
This important work takes place in a sensible pace, in secure surroundings.
